As most members will be aware the boathouse area has suffered successive year of storm damage . The last storm was the most destructive yet.  We are very pleased to say the both Wicklow county Council and Wicklow municipal council have been very proactive in erecting coastal defences to prevent further damage  .The current works using the Kelly block system should be completed very shortly and are designed to be temporary as a new sea wall project is being planned as a final solution to the flooding associated with the frequent storm surges . A temporary ramp will also be installed at the front of the clubhouse to enable the boats to be launched safely. Low Railings will also be placed around the block perimeter for safety.
